Cafe Vic-Ryn

Tucked inside the House of Vic-Ryn on Moira Road, Lisburn, Cafe Vic-Ryn delivers the kind of charm that’s hard to forget-whether you’re popping in for a quick coffee or setting up with your laptop for a working lunch. This place has quietly built a reputation for being more than just a local café-it’s a favorite stop for foodies, coffee lovers, and solo diners seeking a peaceful corner.

From the moment you walk in, the scent of freshly brewed filter coffee and warm toasted muffins with poached eggs and bacon wraps around you like a comfort blanket. The vibe is effortlessly relaxed yet stylish, and the layout is thoughtfully inclusive, with wheelchair-accessible parking, seating, entrance, and toilets-a big plus for those who value accessibility.

Let’s talk food-because Cafe Vic-Ryn takes the everyday breakfast and turns it into a reason to get out of bed. Their Pancake Stack is a serious crowd-pleaser: soft, golden layers stacked high, sometimes sweetened up with syrup or given a fruity twist. For those leaning towards savory, the Poached Eggs on Toast with Bacon delivers rich yolks over crunchy sourdough, a classic that never misses. Looking for something lighter but equally satisfying? Their Deluxe Porridge with Mini Pancakes hits a sweet spot between healthy and indulgent.

If you're swinging by for lunch, the Club Sandwich brings together crispy bacon, tender chicken, and fresh salad with just the right amount of bite, while the Potato Stack offers comfort in every forkful. Pair it with a cup of their latte or explore their great tea selection-they don’t play around when it comes to hot drinks.

Dessert lovers, take note: the Pink Pavlova is not just a visual treat-it’s airy, sweet, and surprisingly refreshing. And if you're a chocoholic, the Snickers Chocolate dessert is a gooey, nutty dream. There’s something deeply satisfying about the balance they strike between hearty and elegant.

Now, if you’re a vegan or looking for vegetarian dishes, Cafe Vic-Ryn’s menu won’t leave you browsing endlessly. They offer vegan-friendly plates and healthy options that actually taste as good as they sound. It’s not just a token nod to dietary preferences; the kitchen genuinely pays attention to flavor, texture, and variety.

People working remotely often flock here too. The ambience is calm, the lighting is just right, and there’s no pressure to leave once your plate is empty. It’s the kind of space where solo dining feels welcome-no awkward stares, just friendly staff and the gentle clatter of cups and cutlery.

Though they don’t do delivery, they do offer takeaway, which is perfect if you're in a hurry or want to grab a quick bite. But honestly, if time allows, it's worth sitting in. The service is warm without being overbearing, and you’ll notice regulars exchanging friendly nods with the staff-always a good sign.

There’s something about Cafe Vic-Ryn that feels both personal and polished. It’s not trying too hard to be trendy, but it nails what really matters: comforting food, great drinks, relaxed vibes, and a welcoming environment for all. Whether you’re craving scrambled eggs and toast, a slow lunch with French toast, or just need a moment to breathe with a steaming mug in hand-this spot delivers, no fuss, no frills.

I had the French toast with bacon and maple syrup. It was lovely, but very pricey. The tea with free top-ups was good value though! I didn't like that you had to queue for so long to order the food, surely it would be more efficient and customer friendly to have table service?!

Very good range of traditional food from breakfast to lunch and brunch options. Great staff with a polite and helpful approach. We have been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. Best scones can be found here along with some amazing desserts. Highly recommended as very good for all ages.

Just can't go wrong here. A good ole fry or a savoury scone for breakfast. Savoury mince pie with chunky chips, veg and gravy for lunch, yum. Love this place
